Project Description

When the chrome plating shop at Hill Air Force Base was due for a major renovation we were called to take care of the controls. This was a major project that consisted of 70+ chrome plating rectifiers, 41 process tanks, 3 inline bake ovens and an overhead conveyor system.

Almost all the existing rectifiers were reused but few new ones were added.

In the past each rectifier had a control panel in the work area.  All these control panels required a large amount of floor space. JLEX designed a new rectifier control system which allowed operators  to control any of the rectifiers from Wonderware driven touch screen PC’s.  Four redundant work stations were installed to allow multiple operators simultaneous control. With the elimination of all the old panels, the work area increased drastically and the rectifiers now had electronic controls on them allowing for better and more constant control during the plating process.
